Bverse: EDWARD DI GRA REX ANGL Z FRANC, crowned bust facing within tressure, nothing at neck, rose on breast, fleurs on cusps. Reverse: POSVI DEUM ADIVTOREM MEUM, long-cross Pattee with three pellets in each quarter, inner legend CIVITAS LONDON. Weight: 3.0 g. A quality silver groat of Edward IV. Edward was a central figure in the Wars of the Roses, a series of civil wars in England fought between the Yorkist and Lancastrian factions between 1455 and 1487.
